Palm oil

Palm oil is an edible vegetable oil extracted from the mesocarp (the reddish pulp) of the fruit of the oil palm. The oil is used in food production, in beauty products and as biofuel. Palm oils are easier to stabilize and maintain the quality of taste and consistency in processed food, so are often preferred by food manufacturers. The largest producers of palm oil are Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Nigeria.

Palm oil is very common among Africans, mostly used to prepare African traditional food delicacies.
